Privacy Policy — You Know Your Money (YKYM)

Overview

You Know Your Money (YKYM) is a Google Sheets-based personal and business finance workspace developed by Gregory Keenan. This Privacy Policy explains how the YKYM application handles your data. YKYM also offers an optional companion mobile web app (enter.youknowyourmoney.com) for quickly logging transactions from your phone; this Privacy Policy covers that app as well.

Data Collection

YKYM does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or financial data outside of your own Google account. All data you enter — including income, expenses, account names, and financial plans — remains exclusively within the Google Sheets file you own and control.

Google OAuth Permissions & Minimum Scope

YKYM requests the minimum permissions required to operate:

• Drive File Access ([https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file](https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file)) — Used strictly to create, read, and update the specific YKYM budgeting files created by or explicitly opened with our application. YKYM cannot access, view, or modify any other files in your personal Google Drive.

• Google Sheets UI ([https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui](https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui)) — Used exclusively to display menus, dialogs, custom setup sidebars, and control panels within your active Google Sheet.

Data Storage

All data is stored exclusively in your own Google Drive within the spreadsheet file created by the application. YKYM has no external servers, no remote database, and no off-platform storage of any kind.

Data Retention & Deletion

• Data Retention: YKYM does not store or transmit your data to external servers. Your financial data is retained exclusively inside your active Google Sheet for as long as you choose to keep the file in your Google Drive. We do not maintain any off-platform backups or external database records of your information.

• Data Deletion: Because all data lives inside your own Google Drive, you have total control over deleting it at any time:

  1. To delete specific data: Simply clear or delete the specific rows, cells, or sheets inside your YKYM Google Sheet.

  2. To delete all data completely: Delete the entire YKYM Google Sheet file from your Google Drive and empty your Drive Trash.

  3. To revoke app permissions: You can disconnect YKYM’s access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account Third-Party Security Settings.

Data Sharing

YKYM does not share, sell, rent, or transmit your data to any third party under any circumstances.

Bank Data

YKYM's bank import feature accepts CSV files exported directly from your bank. These files are processed entirely within your spreadsheet. No bank credentials, account numbers, or login information are ever requested or stored.
